Game "Delay" Bug Fixed
We finally tracked down and fixed that pesky delay/lag problem many of you have been experiencing. The culprit? A corrupted database table index. I know, I know... we'll be getting around to more regular maintenance now on that.
In the meantime, we hope you'll now enjoy crisp response from the game server. Drop me a line if you don't (in the forums).

We're looking for a few good players...
... players who can argue dispassionately and civilly. We recommend Paul Graham's essay How to Disagree and the follow-up picture based on it. Read Paul's essay!

Case-sensitive Authentication (bug)
I thought we had this one licked, but in our panic last week when we moved the authentication web server to a new box, we forgot to make sure that the library we use for authentication was up to date.
Well, it is now, and the bug is closed. Again.

Release: 1.101
I don't want to steal any thunder, but this release is looking fantastic.
Some new features to notice: you can invite anyone to become a player inside the game by clicking the 'Friends' link at the top, then click the "Invite Friends!" link. Just type in their email address they'll receive an invitation to join. You can also invite players from your profile page. You get points when the friends you invite signup on the Glass Bead Network.
You'll also notice an in-game tutorial. There are actually two things going on here that look the same: you'll receive random "hints" in the Welcome channel and inside your channel. You'll also receive a step-by-step tutorial when you play a game. You can turn these hints off by clicking the 'Options' link in the game, then deselect "Show tutorial tips".
While I love explaining how the game works to friends and family, it does get a little old sometimes, especially since the game is far easier to understand when you see it. I need to start carrying around little business cards that only have the website address on it. "Just go here and try it yourself."
And now, Danny has also finished up a series of short videos to make that even simpler to understand. You can see how the linkage rules (e.g., "bounded" and "unique") work in real plays with clear examples, and additional "games in progress" to watch as well.
We've got even more stuff in the works—stay tuned and keep playing.
